Poll: What server shall we go to?

The code will be sent to your email account that is linked with your SE account.


Then, register your registration code here: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/

To do that, first log in. Then select 'Select Service' from the Services and Option sublist. Next click 'Final Fantasy XIV'. From there, it'll ask you to enter the registration code you received from the first link.


Finally, log in, create a character on Lindblum, and let me know when you do. I'll be on Somnia Valde.

Ah i see thanks. What i was missing is i didnt think that i had to reapply for the beta seeing that i've been in beta for years already. Literally years.

so same server after retail? or are we going to jump to a new one? just wondering and haven't heard anything from anyone for awhile.

idk just found this out but we may wanna choose a different server here's reasons i found in a forum.

1) QCDN is playing on it.
2) GameFAQs seems to be choosing it largely. Besaid is up there, too.
3) Apparently /v/ is playing on it.
4) FFXIVCore is playing on it, I believe. Browsing the forums is headache enough most times.
5) Supposedly there's a large gathering of Europeans. Would like a somewhat diverse server.

Uhh yeah, I've heard the same thing. Number 3 concerns me because I really don't want to play with a bunch of 4chan f*cktards. Number 5 concerns me when it comes to grouping. If finding a party ever becomes an issue, playing with others who share the same prime time as me (US) would be nice.

well guys pick a server release is in 2 days, gonna sit out of this, steel can pick the city and bera and chrono can pick the server they seem most up too par with thing and been researching it, hope this seems alright with everyone

Settled then bodhum is the server we will be playing on, steel what city we starting in?

Someone is going to have to explain to me what all those websites or groups are that were listed. As well as what is the problem with the people who frequent those websites. Since I have my character name already registered on Lindblum I would like to stay there, but then again I don't think someone would take my name on another server. Rabanastre would get my vote if we decide to switch. As for the city, I would go with Ul'dah.

well apparently /v/ is 4chan(i don't know what half that shit is either just thinking to solve shit), could place a poll up with those 2 server or a few other and see how people react, i'm just siding quickly to everything is settled for tues, not that it matter most of us wont be able to play til wed with everyone DLing a 6 gb patch

Penny Arcade is a web comic that's pretty good from my readings of it. wouldn't be a horrible place probably a large amount of PA fans there.
Role-Playing Coalition is going to obviously be more for role playing, while we wouldn't have to participate we might have to hear about it alot.
Japanese obvious language barriers... but we got past that before lol.
Something Awful, another news/forum site haven't heard much about them but again probably hear alot about it via chats.
Oceanic not sure about this one probably same reasons as before.
EU probably one of the more annoying honestly due to the whole they go to bed when we wake up type of thing. might be cool if lots of US players go there but not sure.
Core, Zam, Eorzeapedia all are websites dedicated to ffxiv like killing ifrit, i'm expecting alot of the info will come for these at inflated prices of items and NMs and HNMS to be camped for proof. but this is speculation.

ffxiah lump this together with core zam and eorzeapedia.
BG not sure, but i heard kashuan is the test server right now like they released the bonus items in it to test em out. and i'm not sure bout this one anyhow.


really they all have their ups and downs, and while we could stay with lindblum the whole /v/ kinda makes me not want to, due to other 4chan members could follow. but i really don't care where we go honestly just thought i'd point it out. idk if we'd want to go to one with a large ffxiv website going to it as there will probably be people ruining the markets more frequently, and have more "elitism" about end game stuff. again just thoughts.

They're generally -more- obnoxious and abrasive than the general internet crowd. 4chan is probably the origin of 90% of internet memes - which is fine since many internet memes are funny- but they're also the origin of some truly sick ones. They have a history of making fun of pictures of corpses or people in the act of dying. They're just not the type of people I want to be anywhere near.

Guys, are we for certain moving to another server? If we are we only have two votes for two servers. Where is everyone else's choices? Where the hell is Garg too? Bodhum or Rabanastre?

That damn Garg refused to make us a new poll. My reasons for picking Rabanastre is because I find the name to be cool and I liked the city in FFXII.

Well, I was hoping we would have a discussion and/or vote for a server. Seeing as how no else is responding aside from Black and Kam I'm picking Rabanastre as the server we are going starting in. I'll see you guys there later today if not tomorrow. Who knows how long the updating process might take.
